The Federation for Self-financing Tertiary Education (FSTE) held the FSTE Excellence in Education Forum 2026 on 24 August 2026. Bringing together participants from 14 Member Institutions, the Forum marked the first occasion on which recipients of FSTE’s four award schemes gathered at a single event. 20260824-10-editedUnder the theme “Transforming Outcomes · Enabling Potential · Advancing Practice”, the Forum provided a platform for educators and professional practitioners to share experiences, exchange ideas, and explore effective practices in learning and teaching, as well as holistic student development.

These awards celebrated the dedication, innovation and achievements of educators, professional staff and students across the self-financing post-secondary sector within the FSTE Network.

Moving beyond recognition, the Forum transformed achievements into opportunities for professional exchange, with award recipients sharing the experiences, practices and insights that underpinned their success through thematic presentations and facilitated discussions. Two parallel tracks—Reimagining Teaching for Engaged and Effective Learning and Holistic Student Development and Support—enabled participants to explore how effective teaching approaches and integrated support services can contribute to student success and holistic development through meaningful dialogue and the exchange of ideas.

The Forum was well received by participants, who valued the opportunity to learn from award recipients, exchange ideas with peers and gain practical insights applicable to their own educational contexts. Many also expressed interest in continued professional learning opportunities, including workshops that would further explore themes and practices highlighted during the Forum.

FSTE extends its sincere appreciation to the presenters, facilitators, distinguished guests, selection panel members, and participants for their valuable contributions to the success of the Forum, and especially to all award recipients for generously sharing their experiences, insights, and effective practices with the wider educational community. Their contributions demonstrated that receiving an award is not the end of the journey, but a meaningful opportunity to inspire peers, foster professional dialogue and contribute to collective learning across the sector.
